“An opera begins long before the curtain goes up and ends long after it has come down. It starts in my imagination, it becomes my life, and it stays part of my life long after I’ve left the opera house.” – Maria Callas

“You perceive how the soul is the intermediary between the body and the spirit. In like manner is this tree [a small orange tree on a nearby table] the intermediary between the seed and the fruit. When the fruit of the tree appears and becomes ripe, then we know that the tree is perfect; if the tree bore no fruit it would be merely a useless growth, serving no purpose!” – ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
The beautiful season of swimming in the outdoor pool of Gelller spa is over for this year. The sparkling mornings, the gorgeous skies while I do backstroke, this pool of blue waves, the cupids of the fountains, the beautiful morning lights that embrace the old chestnut trees of the spa all have to slumber now until next spring. Nevertheless, we still get to enjoy the lovely indoors, the thermal pools and massage. I am so fortunate❤️
“And the stars were shining, And the earth was scented. The gate of the garden creaked And a footstep grazed the sand… Fragrant, she entered And fell into my arms.” – Puccini: Tosca
“If there is one thing I learned through gradschool it’s that you can make a home wherever you find friends.”
“I speak of love awake, I speak of love in my dreams, To the water, the shadows, the mountains, To the flowers, the grass, the fountains.” – Mozart: The Marriage of Figaro
“I have lived for art, I have lived for love.” – Puccini: Tosca
