The mighty, the fluffy, the one and only cheesy softy pogacsa. You take one, then two, then three, and then you don’t count them anymore☺️
Kálmán makes the most delightful little birds. He’s been working with wood since his childhood but birds he’s been carving the past 10 years. Sweet little creatures, each made from different kind of special wood, when you hold them in your hands, you almost feel like they come alive🪶 Check Kálmán’s website, Farigó (Wooden thrush) at farigo.hu
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all? Beautiful hand-carved mirrors spotted at the Festival of Folk Arts.

I love walking on streets I haven’t before. Our hometowns are full of gems we never got to see before. Walking down from the Buda Castle, these figures caught my eyes as they were standing guard at one of the windows on Hunyadi street. If I had such lovely sculptures by my balcony, I think I would say good morning to them every day🥰
I met Zsóka at the Buda Castle last weekend. She was one of the wonderful ladies representing matyó heritage at the Festival of Folk Arts. A beautiful part of matyo art is the hairbands (mirtusz) that women wear and Zsoka creates spectacular ones. Could I help buying one? No, I couldn’t❤️
“I raise up my voice—not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard. … We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back.” – Malala Yousafzai
“When all mankind shall receive the same opportunity of education and the equality of men and women be realized, the foundations of war will be utterly destroyed. Without equality this will be impossible because all differences and distinction are conducive to discord and strife. Equality between men and women is conducive to the abolition of warfare for the reason that women will never be willing to sanction it.” – ‘Abdu’l-Baha
