Here lived Dr. Miklós Pogány (born in 1893) and Mrs. Miklós Pogány (born in 1899, neé Erzsébet Liszauer). They were both killed in December 1944.
Here lived Mr. Ármin Ladányi (born in 1876) and Mrs. Ármin Ladányi (neé Jolán Stahler, born in 1881). Mr. and Mrs. Ladányi were deported and killed in 1944.
Paris Courtyard, that used to be Budapest’s shopping passage, stood desserted for a long time until Hyatt Hotels started the reconstruction of this illustrious building. When at university, I would often cross the passage of this beautiful old lady filled with small shops but now it is soon to be opened as a uniquely decorated hotel with sparkling shops. I do hope though that once opened it will be accessible by the local public and Budapestian don’t have to shy away from entering this couryard developed for thourists.

Here lived Miklós Radnóti (born in 1909). He was held captive in forced labor and was killed at Abda (near Győr) on 9 November 1944. Radnóti’s wonderful poetry lives forever.
Here lived Mrs. Pál Gartner dr. (born in 1907, neé Magdolna Szöllôsi). She was killed in the Lichtenwört lager in 1945.
Here lived Mr. József Farkas (born in 1893) and Mrs. József Farkas (born in 1896, neé Irén Pleisz). They were taken away and shot by members of the Arrow Cross on 4 December 1944.
Here lived Mr. Ferenc Bán (born in 1901), Mrs. Ferenc Bán (born in 1913, neé Erzsébet Gonda), and Mrs. Hugó Gonda (born in 1893, neé Eta Moskovics). The three of them were deported in November 1944 and killed in Mauthausen.
Here lived Benő Glaser (born in 1885). He was taken away and killed by members of the Arrow Cross on 25 October 1944.
