Sumit has been running his own souvenir shop in New Delhi for 18 years. Working since the age of 15, Sumit sells handicrafts from all corners of India. Most of the shop’s profit goes to charities for people who makes these art pieces. But they are not considered artists in the general sense of the word, often prisoners and children living in orphanages.
My trusted driver, Ravindas who was my companion on my sightseeing and shopping adventures in Delhi. While we couldn’t communicate much, we had fun driving across the city many times and Ravindas showed me proudly photos of his lovely wife and two big sons as well. When I asked him about accidents in this tremendous cosmopolis, he confidently said: “Yes, there are many accidents in Delhi but I never have accidents, I’m a perfect driver.” And truly he was.”
