Fountain pen love

I love fountain pens but not as much as a friend of mine who proudly displays his favourites on his desk.
He has a special relationship with each of his beautiful pens and as I find out from his expert description these three beauties together are more than 200 years old! They are all Art Deco pens, two were made in the UK by Conway Stewart and Valentine Pen and the third one by the American penmaker Majestic some 100 years ago. He said this is very important information to mention as the UK companies were famous manufacturers but unfortunately, do not exist anymore. And of course, the tip of his pens are made of 14K gold.
He loves his collection and when I ask him how many fountain pens he owes, his answer comes as if I had offended his special collection with my question.
“Do you know what the Hungarian noble men said to Maria Theresa when she wanted to call the first census in Hungary in the mid-18th century?” he asks me.
“I have no idea.”
“But Your Majesty, we are not sheep! We cannot be just counted!”
