Our heritage is comprised of many things: the people who came before us, the traditions and values they carried in their lives, the social and cultural patterns that moved them, and the times that continuously shaped their thinking and behaviour.
For a photographer, fascination with old photographs is a default and I believe we are fortunate that our family and social histories are both marked by wonderful images of our past. I also consider myself lucky (as I guess most of us do) to have been born in a country with a rich and beautiful cultural heritage, the patterns of which are inherited and nurtured by generations.
Be it lace, embroidery, printing, crochet or any other techniques that textile artists use, when looking at old pieces of fabric, we can see in them our parents, our grandparents and their descendants as well. With these photos, I would like to express my gratitude for all they had given to us.
