“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” – Mark Twain
“If possible, it is best to have a balance between the civilisation of city life and the solitude of country living. Too much solitude and we can become isolated and lose the benefit of human culture, progress, and communication. Too much urban life and we lose our spiritual essence and our fundamental native homeostasis. Many people instinctively withdraw to the country or the seaside when they feel the noise of city life is drowning out the quiet, inner voice of peace. The country does what the city cannot. It quietens the mind and brings simplicity into one’s life. The city […]
The beautiful season of swimming in the outdoor pool of Gelller spa is over for this year. The sparkling mornings, the gorgeous skies while I do backstroke, this pool of blue waves, the cupids of the fountains, the beautiful morning lights that embrace the old chestnut trees of the spa all have to slumber now until next spring. Nevertheless, we still get to enjoy the lovely indoors, the thermal pools and massage. I am so fortunate❤️
Paris Courtyard, that used to be Budapest’s shopping passage, stood desserted for a long time until Hyatt Hotels started the reconstruction of this illustrious building. When at university, I would often cross the passage of this beautiful old lady filled with small shops but now it is soon to be opened as a uniquely decorated hotel with sparkling shops. I do hope though that once opened it will be accessible by the local public and Budapestian don’t have to shy away from entering this couryard developed for thourists.

Let them see no one as their enemy, or as wishing them ill, but think of all humankind as their friends; regarding the alien as an intimate, the stranger as a companion, staying free of prejudice, drawing no lines.” – ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

“Aslan: You doubt your value. Don’t run from who you are.” – C.S. Lewis: Prince Caspian (Chronicles of Narnia)
True it’s windy and it was only 8 degrees Celsius when I stepped out of the building this morning but my Budapest is always glorious ✨
The seven towers of the Fisherman’s Bastion represent the seven Magyar tribes that settled in the Carpathian Basin in 895. From the towers and the terrace a panoramic view exists of Danube, Margaret Island, Pest to the east and the Gellért Hill.
