The ‘Original Salzburger Mozartkugel’ was created by Salzburg confectioner Paul Fürst in 1890. His delicious treat made from marzipan and pistachio surrounded by nougat and dark chocolate quickly became the city’s most famous confection. Today the original Mozartkugel is still produced by the family factory and is sold in only four shops in Salzburg. And after 130 years, Fürst’s Mozartkugels are still made here by hand.
The season of sparkles has begun! Kálmán Confectionery, a small treasure in the village of Zsámbék, is located about half an hour from Budapest. Hard to choose what cakes not to buy for a delicious weekend afternoon. And no, I don’t think we are related, though regular discounts when eating their yummy cakes would be very welcome☺️
Memories of childhood when the pantry at my grandparents’ house was filled with jars of beautiful apricot jar, peach and raspberry. When my grandma would be – from the early morning – baking amazing cakes and the fragrance of different jams would fill the house. I loved those weekends. I hope she is smiling now as the pantry is being filled up with apricot and blueberry, plum and tangerine jam.
Countless festive treats and marzipan desserts lined up at the Budapest Christmas fair🍪🍰🎂🍩
