palóc festival

Waking up early to drive to Balassagyarmat for the beautiful Palóc Festival. Held in honour of Saint Anne, the mother of Virgin Mary, this annual celebration brings together people from a number of nearby villages. Participants wear their own traditional costumes often inherited from generations back, from 100-200 years ago.
